~Sparkimurs are different, but a lot like you and me~

Sparkimurs live in an interesting, magical and fun-filled world. They are almost always happy and feel good about themselves. But, like all humans, young and old, they have some good and bad days along the way.

Sparkimurs sometimes feel the fear of the unknown and the thrill of accomplishment. They have friends but may feel uncertain around strangers. Sparkimurs are sometimes shy and unsure of themselves and at times they let it all hang out. Sometime they can't do, achieve or have what they want and feel frustrated. They can become angry when their feelings are hurt or they are rejected. There are times when Sparkimurs feel sad and times of great joy. They have challenges that can seem overwhelming but they keep trying. Sparkimurs are different, but a lot like you and me.

It is helpful when families and teachers have some advance understanding of potential childhood behaviors they may experience with their children. Proactively addressing such emotions as fear, shyness, frustration, jealousy, anger and sadness and the behaviors associated with these feelings has many positive effects on young children's social-emotional development .
